According to Portuguese media outlet *Record*, Jose Mourinho was seen at Lisbon Airport following Benfica’s 2-2 draw with Braga. When asked about his future and whether he was traveling to Madrid, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager declined to comment. Shortly after, Marco Silva, the leading candidate to replace Mourinho at Benfica, was also spotted at the same airport. He too refused to address the swirling rumors.
Reporters asked Mourinho, “Are you going to Madrid? Are you leaving Benfica? Where are you going?” Another reporter shouted, “Are you meeting Florentino?” Meanwhile, when approached, Silva was asked, “Good morning, Marco. Are you the top choice to replace Jose Mourinho? What are your thoughts?” Silva replied curtly, “Good morning, good morning.” A reporter followed up, “Will you renew your contract with Fulham? Is that your intention, Marco? We saw Jose Mourinho here earlier. Do you know what’s happening?” Silva responded, “I respect your work, but thank you, thank you. I won’t be making any statements.”
According to *Record*, Silva was later seen at Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport, boarding the same flight to London as Mourinho. Sources indicate that Mourinho’s trip is to visit his family in London.
