Hansi Flick has confirmed his plans to extend his contract with Barcelona, stating he feels completely at home and is already setting his sights on more silverware.
Following Barcelona’s La Liga title triumph, the German manager announced he will remain with the club until 2028. The announcement arrives shortly after Barça sealed the championship with a decisive 2-0 victory over Real Madrid.
The extension recognizes Flick’s achievements over two successful seasons in Catalonia. The former Bayern Munich boss has revitalized the squad, delivering domestic success and restoring a sense of stability at the club.
**Flick on His Decision and Future Ambitions**
Speaking about the new deal, Flick acknowledged the swift nature of the developments but expressed deep gratitude for the club’s belief in him.
“Has this been announced? I’m sorry, but I’ve had a lot on my mind,” Flick told reporters. “I’m very grateful to the club for allowing me to coach until 2028. The club has the right to terminate it, and so do I. We’ll discuss that optional year later. Recently, it has become clear to me that I’m in the right place. Now it’s time to keep winning and to try again for the Champions League. I’m extremely thankful for the club’s confidence.”

“The goal now is to reach 100 points. To achieve that, we need to win our last three games and perform well,” he said ahead of the trip to face Alavés.

“We have different kinds of leaders. There’s Gavi – since returning to training, he has raised the intensity of our sessions; he’s the heartbeat of this team. There’s Pedri, a leader with the ball. Eric [García] too. And the captains: Frenkie [de Jong], Ronald [Araújo], Raphinha,” Flick explained.
“The first thing we need to do is make people happy. I’m proud of that, and I’ve told the players because it’s been a difficult season with injuries. Key players like Lamine [Yamal], Pedri, Raphinha, and Frenkie have been unavailable at times. It’s incredible what we’ve achieved and how we’ve improved over the last two months in both attack and defense. We’ve conceded the fewest goals, and no one expected that.”
