Henderson responded to an X account named “Football Crave,” which posted a statement falsely attributed to him. The post read, “If you read this, I pray that God gives you hope. Your sin may be great, but God’s grace is greater. Turn away from sin and put your trust in Jesus. Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Hebrews 13:4.”
The post falsely suggested that Henderson had taken a stance on the Vrabel situation. The parody account also incorrectly claimed that Vrabel was expected to step down before training camp.
Henderson fired back on social media, stating, “I have never made a public statement on the Vrabes situation. Respectfully, please stop misspreading false information.”
The confusion among fans was understandable, as Henderson regularly shares Bible verses on his X account for motivation. The marriage-related verse in the fake post made it appear as though the running back had written it, potentially undermining the team’s efforts to counter the widespread narrative.
Vrabel and the Patriots have been under intense scrutiny since he and Russini were seen together at a resort in Arizona. Both parties continue to deny any inappropriate relationship. Vrabel briefly stepped away from the spotlight on Day 3 of the draft but has since returned to the Patriots facility to oversee practice. Russini has resigned from her role at The Athletic.
Despite the team moving forward, many believe Vrabel’s career trajectory may be impacted. His first season with the Patriots was highly successful, earning him Coach of the Year honors. However, fans are now speculating on his longevity with the team. According to Kalshi, the probability of him keeping the job after Week 1 has dropped from 77% to 64%.
