Former CSKA player Oleg Kornaukhov stated on Match TV that the referee should not have sent off Baltika defender Kevin Andrade in the 29th round of the MIR Russian Premier League against Lokomotiv.
On Sunday, Baltika lost 0-1 away to Lokomotiv. In the 12th minute, the Kaliningrad side were reduced to ten men after Andrade was shown a red card.
“Football has stopped resembling a male sport. He caught him with his studs, but didn’t drive his leg all the way through. That’s a yellow card foul. In my opinion, a red card was unnecessary here,” Kornaukhov said on the program “All on Match!” on Match TV.
Baltika sit fifth in the Russian championship standings with 46 points. In the final round, the Kaliningrad team will host Moscow’s Dynamo on May 17.
